Ron Hoover is a Senior Project Associate at
The Pennsylvania State University and serves as the coordinator of the
On-Farm Research Program. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Agronomy
from Delaware Valley College of Science and Agriculture in 1983 and a
Master of Science in Agronomy (Forage Management) from Penn State in
1991. Ron has been involved in agricultural research for nearly twenty
years. He served as Senior Research Aide at Penn State from 1985 until
1992 where he managed the field, lab, and greenhouse activities of the
Forage Management program. From 1993 until 1997 he was a support scientist
in the Department of Plant Pathology at the University of Florida and
managed the daily activities related to research on peanut, tobacco,
watermelon, and tomato. Most recently, Ron was a territory sales manager
for a small agribusiness with sales and research responsibilities for
the southeastern US. In that capacity, he conducted field efficacy trials
on the crops of corn, cotton, peanut, potato, peach, citrus, avocado,
bush bean, carrot, sweet corn, pepper, watermelon, and turfgrass.
